Zendesk Login, Sorted
Nearly every Zendesk login problem is one of five things, and the first accounts for most of them.
Your account has its own address
Zendesk accounts live at your own subdomain, in the form `yourcompany.zendesk.com`. There is no universal login page that finds your account for you, which is why searching for "zendesk login" so rarely gets you where you want to go.
If you have lost the subdomain, search your mailbox for any Zendesk notification. Every ticket email you have ever received contains it.
Three different doors
Being able to sign into one but not another is normal. It usually means your account exists as an end user rather than an agent, or your role does not include admin access.
The five usual causes
Notes for admins
Two settings prevent most login tickets: turn on SSO so people use credentials they already have, and put your help centre URL somewhere obvious on your website.
Customers who cannot find your portal email you instead. If they later find it and submit a ticket as well, you now have two tickets for one problem, which is a login problem arriving as a duplicate.
Frequently asked questions
What is my Zendesk login URL?+
Your own subdomain, `yourcompany.zendesk.com`, with `/agent` for the agent interface. Old notification emails contain it.
Why can I see the help centre but not the agent view?+
Your email is registered as an end user rather than an agent. An admin can change that.
We use SSO and the password box does not work.+
Expected when SSO is enforced. Use the single sign-on option instead of the password form.
Access problems create duplicate tickets
People who cannot reach your portal email instead, then submit anyway. Ticket Merger merges the pair automatically.
