Freshdesk Demo and Trial

A demo answers commercial questions. A trial on your own tickets answers the ones that matter.

Demo or trial?

A demo is a guided walkthrough with a salesperson. Worth an hour for pricing, contract terms, migration support and roadmap questions.

A trial is your own account with real features. This is where you find out whether the product fits your queue, and it is free to start without talking to anyone.

Take both, in that order, and spend ten times as long on the second.

A trial plan that works

Day one: forward one real support channel into the trial. Not test tickets. Real ones.
Day two: rebuild your three most important automations. If that is hard, you have just learned your migration estimate.
Day three: put two agents in it for a full day and listen to them afterwards.
Day four: ask the reporting a question nobody has answered before.
Day five: test the boring things. Merging, bulk update, export, and what happens when a customer replies to a closed ticket.

Questions worth asking on the demo

What is the all-in price for our seat count, including anything that is not in the plan table?
What does migration support actually include, and who does the configuration?
Which of the features we just discussed are on our tier?
How does the system know when two tickets are the same request? Listen carefully to this one.

What a trial will not show you

Your duplicate rate. Two weeks is not enough time to see the pattern across a full queue, and no trial surfaces it anyway.

It is worth measuring separately, because per-agent pricing means duplicates translate directly into seats. Start with the duplicate ticket cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Freshdesk free trial?+

Time limited, and Freshworks will usually extend it if you are genuinely evaluating and ask.

Do I need a demo before trialling?+

No. Start the trial, then book a demo with specific questions once you have used it.
